Obituary for John Wakeman
It is with heavy hearts we announce that John Wakeman has gone to be with the Lord on February 17, 2021 at the age of 89. He will be missed deeply by his wife and soulmate of 69 years, Edna (nee Finnis) and his cherished daughters Barbara (Robbie) McNaughton, Linda (Atis ‘Kris’) Krisjanis and Yvonne Huggett (Barry Lacroix). Remembered always as the light of his eye are his grandchildren Jack (Shasta), Amanda (Jason), Andrew (Serene) and his great grandchildren Olivia, Mason, Asher, Evelynn, Gavin and Nixon. Survived by his brother Ken Wakeman in England. John served with the British Army after WWII in the Royal Engineers before moving with his family to Canada in the 1960’s where he worked as a long-time employee at The Sydenham Hospital. A private family funeral service will be held at the HAYCOCK-CAVANAGH FUNERAL HOME, 409 Nelson Street in Wallaceburg.
