Obituary
With great sadness, the family of John Francis Scott announce his passing on July 1, 2021 at the age of 87.
He will be forever missed by his children Lynn (George) Croft, Paul (Barb) Scott, and Steve (Mona) Scott; grandchildren Tyler (Rachel) Croft, Ryan (Brooke) Croft, Brandon Croft, Emerson (Candace) Scott, and Shanea (Jason) Scott; great-grandchildren Charlie & Jaxon Fournier and Ophelia Scott; his brothers Ervie Scott and Eddie (Irene) Scott; sisters Marion Campbell, Vivian (George) McCaughey, Lyn (Barry) Christianson, and Gwen (Dave) Andrews; sisters-in-law Linda Scott, Irene (Don) Durocher, Lanna Lyne-Bryant, and Pat Lyne; his cousin Irene Paulsen; and many nieces and nephews.
Jack was predeceased by his wife Nellie; parents Phoebe & Francis Scott; brothers Jim and Leon Scott; sisters-in-law Georgie Scott, Sharon Scott, and Margaret Lyne.
“Cowboy Jack”, as he was known by many, farmed east of Ponoka for 50 years with his wife Nellie (Gritchen). Over the years, he enjoyed building/fabricating, horseback riding, old-time dancing, and telling jokes to name just a few, but especially driving his classic cars.
A Graveside Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, July 9, 2021 at Zion Christian Fellowship Church Cemetery (East on Highway 53).
