Obituary
John passed away peacefully but still on his own terms like he lived his whole life. Cancer won but he fought valiantly for six long painful years. His family was there to send him off to his waiting Mom & Dad Del and Armande Houle and sister lrene Richard.
We know he was welcomed with the open arms of our angels and will be well taken care of. We have no doubt he and dad will now build a new #6 up there. Next time the thunder rumbles we’ll know they’ve done it.
He leaves to mourn his loving wife of 50 years Lise (White) of Bonfield; his proud and loving son and daughter-in-law DJ and Mackenzie (Miller) of North Bay; sisters Denise (Jake) Turcotte of North Bay and Rita (Don) Giroux of Nova Scotia; Nieces and nephews Jeannine (Craig) Weddell of Niagara Falls, Jeff Richard of Sturgeon Falls, Yvon (Lisa) Giroux of BC, Charlene (Jeff) Giroux of Saskatchewan, Don Jr. (Maru) Giroux of Nova Scotia as well as many loving great nieces nephews and dedicated friends.
We are eternally grateful to his nurse Phillip J for the unending care and compassion he showed John and Dr. Mike Leckie for being there and encouraging John every step of the way. Your patience was unending.
John you were such a force of nature and you will never know the great impact you’ve had on so many lives. You will be so sorely missed.
Visitation will be at Hillside Funeral Service, 362 Airport Rd, North Bay on Saturday Sept. 11 2021 from 7pm to 9pm. Due to current COVID restrictions masks are mandatory and requirements must be respected.
