Obituary
John Dymetro Harasymko
June 1, 1961- July 29, 2021
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved Johnny. He was predeceased by his father John and his mother Marian. Johnny will be deeply missed by his life partner Bonnie; son Dustin; step-children Steven (Dayna), Russ (Jenn) and Candice (Travis); siblings Joan (Gord), Jerry (Shelly), Janet (Tim) and Judy (Eddy); godson Jamie (Leah), grandchildren, nephews, nieces and many great friends.
If you were ever looking for Johnny, you would have a great chance of finding him in the bush with Bonnie cutting wood, or riding around on the side by side having a beer. Johnny had a passion for always upgrading their property (The Pits) by adding new trails, working on the pond, or coming up with crazy ideas like putting in a zipline. He really enjoyed picking mushrooms with Artie and loved having a cold one around a bonfire with his friends and family. Johnny grew up in the Komarno-Teulon area where he was always participating in crazy adventures, especially with his cousin Ronnie.
Johnny had a soft spot in his heart for animals like their cat pumpkin, their dog tippy, and even took a special interest in a wounded goose he found on the side of the road. Then decided it would be a great idea to bring it back to the pit and put it in the pond in hopes that it would start a new life with him.
Johnny was an avid quad rider, so much so that him and his friends created a club called the “Komarno Muckers”. To which Johnny was actually the president. The day that him and his nephew Jamie bought their quads, they proceeded to sink them up to the handle bars in water. Johnny truly enjoyed quadding with family and friends.
Thank you to the staff at St. Boniface Hospital for all their care and compassion.
As per Johnny’s wishes there will be no service. A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Condolences may be left on his tribute wall at www.gilbartfuneralhome.com
