It is with deep sadness we announce the
passing of John « Gouch » Lemuel
Weatherbee, age 68, of Springhill, NS. John
passed away peacefully at All Saints Springhill Hospital Palliative
Care Unit on Sunday, July 11, 2021.
Born in Springhill, NS, he was a son of
the late Donald and Hilda (Reynolds) Weatherbee.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, darts, and
growing tomatoes, but mostly telling his stories and hanging with his
many friends on Main Street. He looked forward to visits
with his good little buddy Mannie « The Hulk ».
He is survived by brothers Larry,
Windsor, NS; Donald (Ferne), Maccan, NS, Timmy (Betty), and William
(Shelly), both of Springhill, NS; sisters Diane Brown (Bill),
Brownsville, Texas, Linda (Gary) Brown, Beverly (Alfred) Wile, and
Nancy Sutherland, all of Springhill, NS; as well as many nieces and
nephews who adored him. He will also be missed by dear
friends Brenda and Bev, his bench buddies.
He was predeceased by infant sister
Marlene.
Arrangements are under the care and
guidance of A.H. Brown Funeral Home, 5
McFarlane Street, Springhill, NS (902-597-2361). A funeral
service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, July 15, 2021 at
4 pm. Lieut Stephen and Rosalyn Toynton presiding. Seating
is limited and preregistration is required, call or email the funeral
home to do so. Please bring your masks and respect social
distancing guidelines. Burial will take place in the
Hillside Cemetery, Springhill, NS.
For those who wish to do so, donations
may be made to the Salvation Army, or the Canadian Cancer
Society.
