McMillan – John George (Jack) passed into eternity peacefully in his sleep on Friday, May 14th at Health Sciences North, Sudbury. Born in Kenora, Ontario, on February 12, 1937 he was 84 years old. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 62 years, Constance Fern McMillan (Sharpe). He will be greatly missed by his four children, Reid (Cathie), John (Barb), Lindsay Hyatt and Gloria Lacasse (Dorian); nine grandchildren, Kailey Walker, Suzanne, William and Adam Notaro, Seth and Landon Hyatt, Camryn, Dorian and Carson Lacasse; three great grandchildren, Lucas, Riley and Elias; his brothers, Donnie (Pat), Allan (Elaine) and Gary (Sharron). He was predeceased by his parents, John and Dorothy McMillan; and his brother, Lorne “Buddy” McMillan.
Jack was a Certified General Accountant. He worked for Dunwoody Saul and Kantola Motors in Kenora. He worked for School Boards in Kenora, Peterborough and Fort Frances. He was the Superintendent of Business for the Espanola Board of Education. Jack always enjoyed a lively conversation about politics! He proudly served on the Espanola Town Council for many years.
Jack loved fishing for Pickerel, especially, on The Lake Of The Woods. He loved his family. He enjoyed playing checkers with his Grandchildren. Jack enjoyed cutting the grass on his John Deere riding lawn mower and cleaning the pool so that everyone could enjoy going for a swim. Jack had attended Bible College in Saskatoon and he loved his Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. The family will celebrate his life at a later date when local laws allow.
