John Arthur David McCafferty 19582021

John Arthur David McCafferty
1958-2021
John McCafferty of Riverview, passed away Friday, September
10, 2021 at his residence. Born in Chatham Head, he was the son of the
late Arthur and Anne Marie (Malley) McCafferty.
John had been a long-time employee of The Atlantic
Superstore (Loblaws). When his girls were younger John took great
pride and joy in coaching their ringette teams. He was an avid runner,
having participated in the Boston Marathon and was an enthusiastic
hockey fan. John loved hiking and being outdoors. He was a spiritual
man that found his Zen and serenity working in his backyard and
garden.
Anyone that met John knew that he loved to help
people, always willing to help a family, neighbour, or friend in need.
He had a goofy sense of humour and loved to make people
laugh.
He is survived by his daughters: Krystle Macdonald
(Mark) and Taya Hollingum (Ryan), sisters; Betty McCafferty (Danny
Boyle) and Barbara McCafferty, a brother, Boyd (Bernadette), his
cherished grandchildren: Kayden, Caleb and Maddex Hollingum, Oliver
and Amelia Macdonald, as well as several nieces and
nephews.
Respecting John’s wishes, cremation will
take place at Cobb’s Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 330
Whitepine Road, Riverview (869-2007) and his family will be receiving
relatives and friends at the funeral home on Thursday, September
16th from 6-8 PM. Donations to the IWK Health
Centre (Halifax) would be appreciated by the family. Online
