We are heartbroken to announce the peaceful passing of John Allan after a brave and courageous battle with Covid-19 his soul is resting easy. He passed into eternal rest on the same day his mother passed 13 years earlier. He was a good man. He was the Best and will be dearly missed.
Predeceased by his Parents John and Edna Imlay. Loving and devoted Husband to Judy (Nee Mower) for 52 years. Dearly Loved and Respected Father to Lisa Lavack (Art), Jennifer Imlay (Ken Lewenza Jr.) and the late Joel Allan Imlay (2001). Proud Pepe and Role Model to Jacob (Megan), Zachary (Renata), Joshua, the late Noah (1995) and Maxwell. Adored “Old Pepe” to Grace, Audrina, Avery, Arlo and Millie. Dear Brother and Friend to Linda Tracy (the late Ed), Rosemary Niemi, Timmy Imlay and Paulette Dawson (Tom). Special friend to Ian Niemi. Brother in Law to Jan, Gayle, Kathy and Brenda and the late Guy. Uncle Roy to Nikki, Lalana, Mikey, Jamie, Andre, Adam, Timmy and the late Sara and Dillon. Special Uncle to Jason, Nathan and Nicole. Son in law to Glen Baldner. He is survived by many cousins and extended family.
Allan was a graduate of Fanshawe College and a retired skilled trades worker from General Motors. He could fix anything and everything and was always eager to help anyone with anything he could. He was selfless. Al was the proud founding member of the Tecumseh Slow Ride and an avid Bicycling enthusiast. He loved exploring the trails and pathways of Es County and beyond and was always ready for the next ride or adventure with his bicycling band of brothers and life-long friends, Zee, Bob and Rick. He leaves behind a legacy of hard work, devotion, family, love and treasured memories that will burn in our hearts forever.
Visitation will be held on Saturday March 20, 2021 from 11:00 – 1:00 p.m. at Families First, 1065 Lauzon Road, East Windsor, Windsor, 519-969-5841. Personal face coverings and reservations are required. You can reserve your time for visitation or seat for the service at FamiliesFirst.ca (RSVP) or by calling directly. On Saturday March 20, 2021 a private family service will be held, a livestream link of the service will be available on Allan’s online profile. A celebration of life and memorial bike ride will be planned for the spring.
