Joseph Cordeau
It is with deep sadness that we, the family of Joseph Cordeau, 97, announce his passing on Wednesday, May 12, 2021.
Joe was born in Sydney Mines on February 5 1924 to Jean-Pierre and Emma (Fortune) Cordeau.
Joe was a carpenter/caretaker of Immaculate Conception Parish in Sydney Mines for many years. He served in the Royal Canadian Air Force in WWII and sailed on the Great Lakes.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Vivian Vickers and siblings Mary, John, Daniel, Stanley, Francis, Henrietta and Sr. Agnes, CND.
Joe is survived by his five children, Claudette (Dan Bradley), Boisdale; Marcel (Sharon Rideout), Sydney River; Angela, Sydney Mines; Joseph, St. Albert, Alberta and Ann (Joe Lavery), Southside Boularderie. He was blessed with eight grandchildren, Alexandra and Jacquelyn Cordeau, David and Becca Bradley, Abigail, Julia, Xander and Joseph Lavery and two great-grandchildren, Ryker and Charlie.
Also surviving are his sisters Elisabeth, Teresa, Sr. Geraldine CND, Sr. Anna CND and brothers Father Leo and Charles (Kay).
Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
