Joanne Barbara Tomnuk
Joanne Barbara Tomnuk, resident of Surrey, BC, formerly of Spirit River, AB, passed away suddenly on Thursday, October 7, 2021, at the age of 70 years.
Joanne was born in Padew, Poland on March 15, 1951, and moved to Canada at the age of 9. She married Willie Tomnuk on August 8, 1971, after a quick courtship. They farmed together in Wonderland until 2010, when they moved to Surrey to be close to their family. They were blessed with two children and three grandchildren, with whom she spent her retirement cooking and doing crafts.
Joanne will be dearly missed by her husband Willie; her children Christine (Jason), and Myron (Darcie); grandchildren Noah, Taya and Gioia; as well as brothers Al (Donna) and Casey.
Joanne was predeceased by her mother and father Anna and Walter; brother Stanley; father and mother in-law Bill and Lucy; as well as brother in-law Roger.
Due to COVID restrictions an invite-only funeral service will be held on Friday, October 15, 2021, at 10:00am, at Victory Memorial Park Funeral Central in Surrey, BC. Interment will be held at a later date.
