Obituary of Jim deBoer
As family our hearts are broken, as we had to say goodbye to our loving husband, father and Pake. Jim (Jan) deBoer was called to Glory on January 5th at the age of 67, he is now at peace and in the presence of the Lord. Married for 42 years to the love of his life and best friend Reinie. Loving father to Suzanne and Brian Schiedel, Scott and Sarah deBoer and Stephanie and David Brodmann. Loving and cherished “Pake” of Eva, Adelaide, Elliott and Tessa Schiedel, Hayden, Evan and Sadie deBoer and Kase, Pieter, Audrey and Marshall Brodmann. Brother of John(Thea), Jane(Bert), Simon (Corrie), predeceased by his brother Jack, brother-in-law of Niesje, Wilma and John and Marianne. Jim was also loved by many nieces and nephews. Born in Sneek, Friesland to Bouke and Pietje deBoer, Jim immigrated to Barrie, Ontario as a young boy. The family later settled in Brantford.
A special thank you to the doctors and staff of the Brantford Cancer Clinic and the Juravinski Cancer Clinic for the excellent care Jim received over the past six years as he courageously battled cancer and later the amazing care received daily at home by the VON nurses and the home support of the Stedman Hospice.
