JESSIE TINNOCH BLACK
PATERSON
With profound sadness we announce the sudden passing of
Jessie Tinnoch Black Paterson (Gailey) on January 9,2021, at Cambridge
Memorial Hospital. She was a loving devoted mum, gran, sister and
aunt, and friend to all whose lives she touched.
She was born in Glasgow, Scotland on October 3, 1930 to the
late Samuel and Gladys Gailey.
In 1972, she immigrated to Cambridge, Ontario with her late
husband George Paterson, where they celebrated 32 years of
marriage.
Jessie leaves behind her daughter Angela Taylor (Paterson),
son in law Douglas, and two grandsons Micheal and Dawson who were the
lights of her life. She will be sadly missed by brother
Charles Gailey and sister Elizabeth Lundie, and many nephews and
nieces all in Scotland.
She has been welcomed home by her two brothers Samuel Gailey
and William Gailey.
During her employment in the shoe department at The Right
House in Cambridge, she made many great friends until her retirement
in 1990.
She found so much joy in the simple things in life.
Going for fish and chips on Friday nights, attending the Cambridge
Highland Games, where she enjoyed watching her grandson Micheal
compete with the Paris/Port Dover Pipe Band.
Most of all she loved her family. Her strength,
support, and sense of humour will be greatly missed, but we know she
will be watching over us.
Cremation has taken place with arrangements made by Corbett
Funeral Home (95 Dundas St., Cambridge, ON).
A celebration of life will take place in Summer
2021.
Heartfelt thanks to the emergency department at Cambridge
Memorial Hospital and Waterloo-Wellington LHIN for their kindness and
compassion during this difficult time.
Gone from our sight, but never from our hearts.
