Obituary
Jessie Louise Wrobel (nee Taylor) was born in Onoway, Alberta on December 27th, 1934. After a brief bout with Covid-19, she passed away on December 30, 2020, just days after her 86th birthday. Greatly saddened by her loss are Mike Wrobel, her husband of 68 years, and her children and their spouses: Marilyn (Phil), Jean (Ernest), Joan (Craig) and Kathy (Rob); grandchildren: Chantelle, Kelly (Tracey), Shea, Susanna (Joses), Karen, Matthew (Whitney), James (Natanya), Michael (Laura), Ashley (Cole): great-grandchildren Amber, Brooklyn, Kirsten, Jeremy, Kolby, Kolton, Ava, Grace, Lucy, and Charlie. Jessie is also survived by her sister Betty Sloan and brother Herb Parker. She was predeceased by her sister Phyllis Hofferd and brother William Taylor, as well as by her son Brian Wrobel.
Jessie and Mike resided in Edson for more than 55 years and she served as bookkeeper for Mike’s lumbermill / millwright business for more than 40 years. On the home front, she was skilled at many handicrafts, and crocheted afghans, baby blankets and beautiful table coverings. She enjoyed life-long friendships with neighbors in the community, as well as with others throughout her several years of membership in TOPS / KOPS. Jessie really shone when she was surrounded by family and friends. Her special campsite picnics with her grandchildren will long be remembered, as will the many years she invited them to assist with making her delicious Christmas fruitcakes. She was a long-term cancer survivor, and we were so thankful for this! Mom and a few other ladies started up, and for several years ran, a local Boy Scouts pack in Glenwood.
As per Jessie’s wishes, cremation has taken place.
a Memorial Service will be held on September 11, 2021, at the Bethel Pentecostal Family Worship Centre in Edson.
