It is with heavy hearts the family of Wanda Jesse announces her passing on August 22, 2021 in Leduc, AB.
Wanda (nee Both) was of German descent, born in Russia in 1924. She emigrated to Canada in 1949. She was sponsored by her uncle August Ferchoff and settled in Lampman, SK working as a housemaid for the Krause family. There she met Erich Jesse, whom she married in 1951. Together they farmed in the area and raised a family of 2 boys – Terry born in 1951 and Walter born in 1956. Wanda was renowned for her baking skills and was an excellent gardener. We all miss her amazing cinnamon buns and garden-fresh potatoes. Wanda moved to Leduc in October 2011. She took great joy in being closer to her sons and grandchildren. Unfortunately, she suffered a stroke in 2012 which left her immobile and with a speech impairment. She moved into Salem Manor where she resided until her passing.
Wanda was predeceased by her parents Oscar and Matilda, and her husband Erich in 1981. She leaves to mourn: her son Terry, Walter (Freda); grandchildren Melissa (Greg), Matthew, Dakota (Jesse), Trevor, Chantelle and Allison (Adolpho); great-grandchildren Kayla, Brett, Adolpho Jr., William and Emily.
Funeral Service will be held at Serenity Funeral Service, 4702 – 51 Avenue, Leduc, AB on Friday, August 27, 2021 at 1:00 p.m.
Interment will be held in Woodley, SK on Monday, August 30, 2021 at 1:00 p.m.
