In loving memory of Jennifer Ann Hawkins (nee Jokinen), 39 years. It is with deep sorrow that the family announces the sudden passing of Jennifer on Wednesday, June 16, 2021. Jennifer was the pillar of her family, friends, and work family and will be dearly missed by all who knew her. She was a most loving wife to her high school sweetheart James. Their two daughters, Lily and Charlotte, were the absolute light of her life. Cherished daughter of Caroline Jokinen and best sister to Darren Jokinen (Kerri). Daughter of Erik Jokinen. Beloved daughter-in-law of Gary and Connie Hawkins and dear sister-in-law of Penny Morel (Steve). Adoring aunt to Joshua, Cohen, and Olivia. Always an animal lover, dogs Annabelle and Murray will miss her snuggles. Beloved niece and cousin to the Resetar, Jokinen, Hawkins, and Lane families. Special long-time friend to Sarah Cormier, Marisa Julian, Carly Marshall, and Nikki Palangio, and a dear friend to so many more.
Jennifer was caring, compassionate, fun-loving, and lived life to its very fullest. She enjoyed sharing adventures big and small with those she loved, most especially with her family, whether it be traveling, bike riding, cheering on the Toronto Raptors, sitting by the campfire, or enjoying movie and game nights. Her cheerful laugh could light up any room, while her kindness made her the shoulder for anyone to lean on. At an early age while completing her nursing degree, she discovered her calling to care for the elderly, landing her dream job as Chief Clinical Officer at Finlandia Village. Her colleagues and residents were her extended family, and she was so proud to be part of their lives every day.
Jennifer touched everyone who came into her life, and in honour of her brilliant spirit, we will keep her in our hearts and continue to share all of life’s adventures with her.
Thank you to the incredible staff in the Health Sciences North emergency and intensive care units who went above and beyond to care for Jennifer and her family.

“On a prayer, in a song, I hear your voice, and it keeps me hanging on,
Raining down, against the wind, I’m reaching out,
‘Til we reach the circle’s end, when you come back to me again.”
