Obituary of Jeanine Masson
Jeanine Marie Masson, 82, passed away peacefully on the 2nd of November, 2021.
Jeanine was born on October 9th, 1939 in Pokemouche NB, to the late Leo and Marie (Duguay) Landry.
After graduating from Saint John Vocational School in 1957, Jeanine worked as a Secretary for several years.
In 1965 she married her beloved husband and best friend Jimmy Masson. The two had great fun together, found new hobbies and even dabbled in square-dancing. Jeanine and Jimmy went on to have three daughters: Laura Tibbet of Saint John, Tina McLaughlin of Rothesay, and Michelle (David) Reichel of Embrun, ON.
Jeanine had an entrepreneurial spirit and with Jimmy built and ran The Book Worm, a little used book store in Fairvale, NB. She also went on to work for many years at The Self Help Store as assistant manager.
In 1995 the daring duo moved to Ottawa and had a great adventure owning two successful “English Butler” stores in Ottawa, ON, with much help from Tina, Michelle and David(Reichel).
Jeanine leaves behind her three daughters; her two sisters: Terri (David) O’Neill of Oromocto, Donna (Gordon) Landry of New Hampshire; her four grandchildren: Chloe Tibbet (Patrick), Hannah Tibbet, Cody McLaughlin and Samson McLaughlin; her sisters-in-law: Dolores (Robert) Thomas and Ruby Masson (the late Edward); her granddaughters’ father: David Tibbet; and her beloved dog and dear friend Tia.
Jeanine was a witty, loving, intelligent, humble, and godly woman. She was an avid reader (mysteries, romances, and the bible being her favourite) and a beloved friend. Jeanine was a devout Christian, and cherished meeting with her prayer group. Her faith was a shining example of God’s love for so many as she demonstrated what it meant to love without judgement. She will be greatly missed, and lovingly remembered.
