Jean’s Obituary
Whitehead, Jean Eva – With broken hearts and gratitude for a life well- lived, the family of Jean Whitehead announces her passing, which occurred at Tideview Terrace Nursing Home in Digby, NS on February 26, 2021. Just one month shy of her 90th birthday, she was our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, friend, and lifelong companion to Everett Crocker. Born in Halifax, NS on March 26, 1931 she was a daughter of the late Wilfred and Jane Boudreau. A devout Catholic, Jean’s greatest pride was her three children who she raised on her own from a very young age. She loved to spend time with close friends and family and especially enjoyed visiting with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Jean had a zest for life. She loved country music and travelled to see many concerts with Everett including several trips to Nashville. She also had an opportunity to visit many places, highlighted by a trip to her dream destination, Hawaii. Jean loved to shop, always finding the perfect card, no matter the occasion, and she never missed a chance to play « her game, » Bingo. Jean had a beautiful smile that could light up a room. She loved to laugh and had a heart of gold. We will forever miss the brightness and love that she brought to all of our lives and will remember fondly the many memories we shared. Jean is survived by her daughter, Beverly (Jim) Rees, Oromocto, NB; sons, Stephen (Karen) Whitehead, Michael (Sandy) Whitehead, all of Dartmouth; sister, Dorothy Boudreau; seven grandchildren, Chelsea, Nicholas, Cody, Zachary, Abigail, Alexander, and Brittany and five great grandchildren. Her long-time companion, Everett Crocker has lost the love of his life. Besides her parents, Jean was predeceased by sisters, Sophie Horne and Ina Boudreau; a brother in infancy. The family would like to express their sincere thanks to the staff and volunteers at Tideview Terrace for their heartfelt care. Cremation has taken place. Interment will take place at a later date.
