It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved mother, Jean Anne O’Neill (née DeNoble) June 6, 1937 – February 1, 2021 at Caressant Care on McLaughlin in her 84th year.
Predeceased by her loving husband, and our dear father Donald Frederick O’Neill, in 2001. Mom has gone to be reunited with dad and many beloved family members.
She will be deeply missed by her children, Peter (Jessica), Mary Anne (David) and Christopher (Alison).
Jean was a proud Grandmother to Brendan, Liam, Joshua (Rebecca), Jordan and Alexandra, whom she was so very proud of and loved dearly, and Great Grandmother to Benjamin.
Survived by her loving siblings, Michael DeNoble (Liisa) and Marie Evans(Ryland). Predeceased by her dear parents, William and Vera and her siblings Gerard and Robert DeNoble.
She will also be fondly remembered and dearly missed by her many in-laws on the O’Neill side and by her many nieces, nephews and « great » nieces and nephews on both sides of her family. She adored them all. Also missing her will be her large extended family and friends.
Jean was a dedicated Grade 2 teacher for many years with the PVNCCD School Board. Her love for music and singing always found it’s way into her classroom. She was always prepared to take the lead to organize a children’s choir for St Mary’s Church for any celebration.
Her faith in God was deeply rooted, and she was a devout member of St Mary’s Catholic Church. Mom always put her trust in the plan that God had for her, and she continued to be a faithful follower, even when she could not attend mass, by saying her endless daily prayers.
In keeping with Mom’s wishes and due to COVID-19 restrictions, following cremation, a Mass of Christian burial has taken place followed by an interment at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, with immediate family only.
A celebration of life will be announced and will take place at a later date.
We would like to extend our deepest thanks to Dr. Vorster for his kind, gentle and compassionate care of our mother during her time at Caressant Care. Also to the staff at Caressant on McLaughlin for being so patient and understanding with our mom. She had some pretty special PSW’S who treated mom like their own mother, and for that we are grateful.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Community Care Access Center of Lindsay or to St. Mary’s Church, Lindsay through the Stoddart Funeral Home, 24 Mill Street, Lindsay or online at www.stoddartfuneralhome.com
