Born on October 13th, 1950 in Walton, Hants Co., Jane was the daughter of the late Clyde and Carnita (Higgins) Allen.
She received her secretarial diploma from Maritime Business Academy in 1970 and was employed with the Halifax Infirmary until she and her husband, Ken, started their family in 1972, at which time she chose to be a stay-at home mother. Jane was very involved during her children’s school years, where she was an active member of the PTA, volunteered at the school library, and for school trip chaperons. Jane will be remembered by her family and friends as someone who could always be counted on to lend a helping hand and provide a listening ear to anyone who needed it. Jane loved it best at the cottage in Walton with her husband, where she could tend to her flower gardens, visiting friends, read and enjoy the ocean scenery. After her husband retired, she and Ken, enjoyed travelling and vacationing in the US and Europe. She will be greatly missed and never forgotten.
