Jamie Allan Waldner 1982 2021

Obituary of Jamie Allan Waldner
Jamie Waldner was born on March 28, 1982 in Grande Prairie and passed away peacefully at home on December 1, 2021 after a short but devastating battle with brain cancer.
Jamie was third generation born and raised in Grande Prairie. After high school, Jamie started his carpentry apprenticeship under his dad, Allan. In 2003 He married his high school sweetheart, Chelsea and they had four children. Jamie earned his Journeyman Certificate with Red Seal in April of 2005 just after his first child was born and became the third generation carpenter in the Waldner Family.
Jamie was a loving and giving man, always looking out for everyone else and putting himself last. He would give sacrificially to almost anyone continually and without expectation. He was a proud father, husband and carpenter who always went above and beyond for his clients and his family. Jamie had the pleasure of working on many projects over his career, but his favourite project was building the Spring Creek Cemetery Church with his Dad. Jamie enjoyed the true craftsmanship required to build that building and the peacefulness he experienced there stuck with him. Because of this, it is his family’s desire that the Spring Creek Cemetery become Jamie’s final resting place.
Jamie’s favourite time of year was Christmas. Every Christmas, no matter how much or how little he had for himself, he would always find a way to give to the less fortunate. Christmas dinner was a huge part of the joy of the season for Jamie so he secretly provided Christmas dinners for many families over the years. Jamie was always careful to think of the pride and dignity of others and tried his best to give without it being visible. He gave Christmas money to single parents, and the homeless every year and he often purchased gifts for families in need. Several times Jamie chose to participate in adopt-a-family programs during the holidays and he always experienced more joy buying and sending those gifts than any others.
Jamie is survived by his wife Chelsea, his four amazing children, Olivia, Tristan, Trace and Veronica, his devoted parents Carrie and Allan, his brothers Paul (Jamie) and Ian (Keshia), his sister-in-law Laeken Brekkaas, many aunts, uncles and cousins. Jamie was predeceased by his grandparents Andy and Marian Waldner, Jack and Myrtle Jones and his uncle Wayne Waldner.
The family would like to thank the community for being such a blessing to us in this, our time of need. We would also like to extend a special thank you to Denise Giebelhaus-Graw from Beaverlodge Home Care for her exceptional kindness, care and support to Jamie and our family during these last weeks.
To say Jamie will be missed is an overwhelming understatement. Jamie created a network of giving that was invisible to others and his absence will be felt in great waves. In lieu of flowers, please pick up Jamie’s silent legacy and give to those around you. For no reason at all, because someone needs it or just to see them smile.
Very Respectfully, Beaverlodge Funeral Service.
