Obituary of James Arthur Langley
James Arthur Langley – October 29, 1924 – September 20, 2021
Born in Madison, Maine, his parents returned to Nova Scotia when he was a young boy. A Second World War Veteran he joined the forces at 17 years and served overseas in Scotland and then Belgium. He became a fireman with CFB Cornwallis for over 30 years. As an amateur radio enthusiast morse code was frequently heard coming from his radio room and he communicated with other operators, sometimes as far away as Russia, Europe and Central America. Always ready with a huge smile and often a joke he loved life to the end. He often reminisced about his trip to Cuba with his wife and was even persuaded to go back to Europe as a tourist this time. Predeceased by his wife Virginia (Henshaw); step sisters, Ioleen and Winifred Thibideau (King) and several infant children. He is survived by his children James (Susan Reid) Langley, Dan Langley, Sylvia Langley and Linda (Fred) Simmons; his granddaughter Erin Grandy and great grandson Owen Grady plus many nieces and nephews. No visitation or funeral service by request. Donations in memory may be made to Canadian Cancer Society. On line condolences may be made by visiting: www.kaulbachfamilyfuneralhome.com
