It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of James Walter Hendrickson on January 17, 2021 at the age of 46 years. Jim was born March 19, 1974 in Innisfail, Alberta to Harvey and Marilyn Hendrickson. Jim grew up in Spruce View where he attended school, played minor hockey and was involved in 4-H. At a young age Jim developed a passion for working with tools, always taking things apart and putting them back together. He spent endless hours with his dad working on vehicles. Being outdoors was a big part of his life, he enjoyed fishing, horseback riding, camping and water skiing, then in later years took up the bow and arrow and hunting. Jim was blessed with two boys from his first marriage and devoted his time to them, teaching them the things he enjoyed as a young child. Jim met Sarah (Willet) Hendrickson in 2011 and they were married in Canmore Alberta in 2013. Together they built a life centred on their blended family and pets, and outdoor activities including quadding, snowmobiling, biking, camping and fishing. Jim worked at numerous jobs, eventually going back to school and obtaining his First-Class Gas Ticket, working at the Crossroads Gas Co-op in Innisfail and Foothills Natural Gas Co-op in Olds. Jim will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Jim leaves to mourn his loving wife Sarah, his two sons: Tanner and Caylem, his brothers: Tom (Lisa), Howard (Mary Anne) and Micheal (Candice), his Uncle Gerald Glenn (Sharon), his Uncle Jim (Rita) Derksen, his Aunt Judy (Berry) Leachman, his Aunt Gail (Howard) Robertson, his Aunt Roxy Carruthers (Mitch) and his Aunt Bernice Willsie, his Aunt Ruth (John) Lemke, his Aunt Jackie Goodeye, his parents in-law Warren (Teala) Willet, his sisters in-law Robin Powell and Jennifer Willet, along with numerous nephews, nieces, great nephews and cousins. Jim was predeceased by his parents Harvey and Marilyn, and his maternal and paternal Grandparents. Due to Covid restrictions, a Private Family Gathering will be held in the coming days, followed by Public Celebration of Jim’s life at a later date.
