His method of encouragement to all was expressed through his many colorful quotes. A few memorable ones were: “Can’t?, There is no such word as can’t!”, “Apply yourself”, “You can’t work with your mouth open”, “I am not paying you to think I am paying you to work”.
In Jim’s memory please consider a donation to the Jim Lamont Legacy Bursary @selkirk.ca/support. This bursary meant a great deal to him for others to further their education in Vocational & Technical fields.
And I said to the man who stood at the gate of the year Give me a light that I may tread safely into the unknown And he replied: Go out into the darkness and put you hand into the hand of God That shall be to you better than light and safer than a known way So, I went forth, and finding the hand of god, trod gladly into the night Louise Haskins
