Kidson, James Robert – It is with a broken heart that I share the passing of Jim on the morning of December 1, 2021. He will be remembered as a loving, kind, gentle, hardworking, honest man by all who knew him. He was taken much too soon!
He was the owner and operator of Kidson Excavating for many years. Around the community there are many examples of his talent as an excavator operator. There are many stone walls, landscaping projects, and his famous Inukshuk in Oyster Pond. He loved his work but decided it was time to retire at the end of 2018. He had planned on many more years of retirement but enjoyed everyday of the short time he had. He spent many hours making walking trails through the woods.
He is survived by his wife, Lynda and children, Trevor (Julie), Lake Echo; Tammy (Sandy), Oakville; and Janice (Mattes), Germany. He also leaves behind to mourn his passing, his mother, Clara and siblings, Anita (Barry), John (Heather), Diana (Eddie), Olga and Paul (Krista). He was a proud grandfather to three granddaughters and five grandsons.
He was predeceased by his father, James and sister, Linda Laybolt.
A graveside service will be held in Union Church Cemetery, Lake Charlotte at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, December 15, 2021. There will be a Memory Box on site. The family would appreciate it if you could share a memory or story of your interaction with Jim. He has grandchildren that did not have an opportunity to get to know him. We would like to share this box with them when they are older.
Arrangements are under the direction of Arimathea Funeral Cooperative, Upper Musquodoboit.
Rest in Peace my Love, until we are reunited someday….
