James Kenneth John (Ken) Langille, 71, passed away on September 27, 2021 surrounded by family at his home in Salmo, BC after a recent diagnosis of pancreatic cancer.
Ken is survived by his companion in life of 27 years, Mary Irvine, his daughters, Michelle (Tod) Fehrnstrom and Andrea Langille, bonus daughter Katrina Czechowski, brother Darrell Langille, sister Colleen (Doug) Jones, four grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends. Awaiting him in the afterlife are his parents and sister, Sharon Moon.
Ken was born on September 21, 1950 in Trail, BC to Bill and Pat Langille. The second oldest of the four siblings, Ken was independent and adventurous in his younger years, often heading off into the woods behind their family home in Oasis for days to explore, and returning with bags of wild asparagus for his mom. Wild at heart, he traveled and made his way in the world, sharing his life with many who will cherish those memories forever. Throughout his life he made a living as a head saw filer at several saw mills in BC, but as he got older he found a true passion in life’s simpler things, such as riding his bike, creek fishing, raising chickens, cooking, gardening, composting, and enjoying time with family. Ken was a man of few words but all who knew him will miss him immensely.
A celebration of his life will be held in the springtime of 2022. For family and friends who wish to attend or if you would like to express condolences, please contact his daughter Michelle at michellefehrnstrom@gmail.com.
As an expression of sympathy, the family would appreciate donations be made to Ken’s memorial page through Pancreatic Cancer Canada at donate.pancreaticcancercanada.ca/goto/KenLangille.
You are invited to leave a personal message of condolence.
