We are heartbroken and devastated by the sudden passing of Jim (James) Wayne Di Marco. After a difficult battle with COVID, Jim passed away last night (Thursday, June 3, 2021).
Jim leaves behind his beloved wife Barb of 38 years, his son Vaughn and partner Léa. His Mother Florence. Siblings Sharon (deceased January 2021) Garry & Tammy, Warren & Robin, and Myrna. With many cousins, nieces and nephews in both Ontario and Manitoba.
Jim had a relentless entrepreneurial spirit, operating a number of businesses – vending machines, construction, renovations, etc. He was a perfectionist, always sure his work was the highest quality.
He loved big machines. A heavy duty mechanic by trade he spent a few years commuting to work in Alberta for Finning. Five years ago he started working at an Iron Ore Mine in Nunavut, commuting to the great white North once a month. He told all his friends that he worked in Santa’s Workshop since the mine was so close to the North Pole. It was an exciting adventure for him repairing and driving the big machines at the mine.
He always had a grin on his face on the verge of laughter. Warm and inviting, he lived life at his own pace, while at the same time working diligently on his never ending to do list. He loved to walk the trails with his beloved dogs, Kong, KoKo, and Rocket, who have given him much joy and companionship over the years.
