OWENS, Irene Rita (Renaud) – At the age of 88, formerly of Deep River, passed peacefully at Norfolk General Hospital, on Friday April 9, 2021. Mom and Nana will be dearly missed. Preceded in death by her husband Francis. She is survived by her daughter Katharine Olsson and her husband Larry, son Philip Owens and his wife Linda, son Bill Owens and his wife Donna. Mom was very proud of her grandchildren Marty, Derek, Lexi, Danny, Katie, Jennifer, Jacqueline, Andrew and Christine. She took special joy in the smiling faces of her great grandchildren Cameron, Owen, Isaac, Ryan, Adam, Tyler, Allison, Grayson, William, Emma, and Hunter. The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the staff at NGH from floor 4 B, who treated Mom with dignity and tenderness in her final days. A fierce Matriarch happiest when surrounded by her family. Mom will be fondly remembered for her warm hugs, loving and direct advice and for always being the best dressed person in the room. At Irene’s request cremation will take place with a private family service to be held at the Ferris Funeral Home, 214 Norfolk St. S., Simcoe. (519-426-1314) .
