Irene (Gramma Wright) passed peacefully on August 19th at the ripe old age of 98. She was born in Erickson Manitoba and grew up on their farm as her father’s right hand man.
She moved out to Richmond the 1940’s and worked hard all of her life. She was a salesperson in the china department of Woodward’s for 22 years.
She retired in 1988 and volunteered for many years at the Richmond Caring Place working with the seniors program.
Gilmore Gardens was her home for over 13 years and she was active on the Recreation and Food Committees. She loved to play cards and Sundays will not be the same without our game of 31. She loved family get-togethers and we will all miss her. She leaves behind one son Bob (Sandi) and 2 Grandsons Jeff (Nadine) & Ken. 6 great Grandchildren: PJ, Steven & Justin; Ty, Kasey & Ryan and one great, great granddaughter, Chanel.
We wish to thank the Palliative Care Team and the nurses from Evergreen as well as the caregivers from Westside Nursing and the nursing staff at the Salvation Army Rotary Hospice for their loving care during her final days. A special thanks to Her Gilmore Girls for their support and encouragement.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
