Obituary of Ian Alvie Woods
Passed peacefully on October 9, 2021 at Smiths Falls Hospital at the age of 93 surrounded by his family. Predeceased by his parents Robert and Joyce Woods, his sisters Doreen, Ida, Rita and Gertrude; as well as his brothers Gerald and Stanley. Survived by his loving wife Marjorie, his children Barry (Sue) Woods, and Cathy (Allen) Sinfield, his grandchildren Chris, Julie (Mo), Steve (Caitlyn), Brian (Victoria), and Melissa (Carlos), and by his great-grandchildren Rory and Jacob, Aya and Talia. He will be greatly missed by his many nieces and nephews, family and friends. Ian was a kind and gentle soul with a big heart. He was a loving, devoted family man and well regarded by all. Due to the pandemic, a private family service will be held at the graveside in his honour. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Food Bank, or a charity of your choice, would be appreciated. The family wishes to thank the many healthcare professionals, including the paramedic and ambulance attendants, as well as the amazing doctors and nurses at the Smiths Falls Hospital for the great care Ian received.
