It is with deep sadness that the family of the late Hugh M. Slaney of Spanish Room announces his passing. Hugh passed away at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Center in Burin on Sunday, September 12th, 2021 at the age of 86.
Leaving to mourn with a lifetime of wonderful memories are his; sons, Hugh (Pauline) of Marystown, Andre (Thelma) of Spanish Room, and Edward (Lisa) of Marystown; daughters, Geraldine Roul (Robert) of Winterland, Rose Tabler (Greg) of Hay Lakes, AB, and Bernadine Pollett (Leon) of Marystown; 15 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; brother, Terrence Slaney (Kathryn) of Halifax; brother-in-law, Gordon Brake (Lucille) of Spanish Room; sister-in-law, Mary Jo Brake of Marystown; special thank you to the wonderful staff at the Marystown Retirement Center and Burin Peninsula Health Care Center for taking such good care of their dad; plus a large number of other family and friends.
Hugh was predeceased by his wife, Monica; his parents, Joseph and Mary Slaney; his parents-in-law, Ambrose and Elizabeth Brake; brothers, Michael Slaney, Patrick Slaney, Robert Slaney, and Leo Slaney.
Visitation and funeral service to be announced.
In Hugh’s memory donations may be made to The Daffodil Place or flowers gratefully accepted.
