In the early hours of Tuesday, November 2nd, 2021, Mrs. Hilda Agnes Gonputh (nee D’Andrade), passed away peacefully in her sleep at North York General Hospital in Toronto. Born on February 23rd, 1918 to parents Platilda and Gregorio D’Andrade in Morawhanna, Guyana, South America. Hilda married Charles Walter Gonputh and eventually moved to Georgetown, Guyana, where they had eight children.
Mrs. Gonputh is pre-deceased by her husband Charles, parents, six sisters and three brothers, and on October 14, 2021- her son Anthony (Ricky). She is survived by her children Donald, Eula, Deanna, Michael, Genevieve, Theresa (Unita) and Rosann, and her sister Elvin. “Granny” as she was called by everyone, had 22 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and 3 great, great grandchildren.
Her legacy lives on in the hearts and minds of her family and friends, as being loving, kind, determined, funny and deeply committed to taking care of her family. Mrs. Gonputh had a very strong faith in God and will be missed dearly by everyone.
Mrs. Gonputh’s viewing and funeral service will occur on Thursday, November 11th, 2021.

The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, any donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada in her memory.
