MOISANDER, Hellevi Sofia (nee Sorvari); Passed away at Riverview Manor in Peterborough surrounded by her family, on Sunday, December 12th, 2021, at the age of 81. Hellevi is predeceased by her loving husband of 41 years, Jouko Moisander. Cherished mom of Monica (David) Gillespie and Michael Moisander. Proud Mummu of Brock and Dawson. Beloved sister of the late Hilpi (Raimo) Virolainen, Sirkka (Reijo) Lintula, and Sinikka (Heikki) Mattila. Predeceased by her parents Toivo and Hilja Sorvari. She will be dearly missed by many other family and friends. Hellevi was born in Finland and immigrated to Canada in 1967 with her future husband, and settled in the Lindsay area. She was a talented seamstress with an incredible sense of adventure. Many weekends were spent in Algonquin Park canoeing, skiing, hiking, and winter camping. Hellevi enjoyed exploring Lake Superior and when not spending time in the back country wilderness, she loved holidays and cruises down south with her husband. She will also be fondly remembered for her positive influence on the children she spent babysitting throughout her life. Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will follow at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family invites you to spend a day outside amongst the trees, lakes and rivers and create unforgettable memories just as Hellevi did with her children and grandchildren.
