Obituary
It is with profound sadness that we share our sorrow in the passing of Hélène Tomson (née Caouette). Beloved wife of Bill; mother of Michelle (Joe), Julie (Sebastien) and David (Tanya); grandmother of Raegan, Kaela, Willa, Bella and Elena; sister of Marielle and Raymond. She is beloved by numerous nieces, nephews and long-time friends. Hélène was pre-deceased by her parents Marcel and Adrienne.
Hélène was born September 5, 1945 in Hearst, Ontario. She lived with her family in the northern Ontario towns Long Lac and Cochrane until she pursued a career in nursing graduating from St Michael’s Hospital School of Nursing and obtaining a B.Sc.N from The University of Western Ontario. She married Bill Tomson, her lifetime love, in 1967 to begin a life of adventure in Toronto, Hamilton, North Bay, Ottawa, Florida, Cranbrook, Richmond (Vancouver) and Calgary. They moved to Richmond B.C. in 1995 where Hélène completed training as a Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine. After retirement they relocated to Calgary in 2017 to be closer to their Canadian grandchildren. Wherever Hélène lived, she won the hearts of all who knew her. Her gentle perseverance, intelligence, and tender touch enriched everyone in her life. Helénè’s sparkling blue eyes and gentle smile encouraged all around her to be the best possible person they could be. Our deepest gratitude to Dr Dafydd Gwyn Bebb, Oncologist; Jessa Landmann, Naturopath; and the Palliative Care team. Your compassion and kindness eased the journey.
