Schmid, Helen (née Lewis) March 15, 1931 – September 4, 2021 – An Orono girl, book author, and local historian passed away peacefully at Case Manor Community Care in Bobcaygeon in her 91st year. Beloved wife of the late Emil Schmid. Helen is survived by her four daughters; Elaine (Ron Reffle) of Sault Ste. Marie, Julie (Jim Wilson) of Little Britain, Laurie Schmid (formerly Forget) of Bowmanville, and Heidi (Tom Lycett) of Bobcaygeon. Grandmother of David and Tara Wilson, Susan Wilson, Erin and Andrew Woodside and Wesley Forget. Great grandma of Sadie Wilson. Predeceased by her brothers Ross and Robert Lewis. She is survived by her sister Fae Forget. Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 9th at Celebrations, 35 Lindsay Street, Lindsay North with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00. Interment to follow at the Orono Cemetery, 24 Mill Lane, Orono. Masks and social distancing required to attend the service. If desired, memorial donations to Clarington Museums or a charity of your choice would be appreciated. If ordering flowers, please no Lilys or Red Carnations – due to a severe allergy.
