Helen Hornblower Morningstar n Griffin December 27th 1918 October 12th 2021

Peacefully at Marshall Gowland Manor, surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, October 12, 2021 Helen Hornblower Morningstar (n. Griffin) passed away at the age of 102. Loving mother of Gordon Hornblower (Donna), Judy Passingham (Jack), Will Atkin (Terry) and Bill Hornblower. Cherished grandmother of Christopher Hornblower, Victoria Hornblower, Jamie Hornblower, Cindy Steeves, Cheryl Quinn, Beth Marshall, Kate McDonald, Chloe Boersma, Leila Andalie and Will Hornblower. Predeceased by her husbands William Hornblower and Gordon Morningstar; daughter Kathleen Hornblower; and siblings Clarence (Grace) Griffin, Kenneth Griffin, Alan (Melba) Griffin, Adeline (Don) McLellan, and Alberta (William) DuBois.
Helen was born in Sarnia Twp., was a life-long member of this community and was fortunate that many members of her extended family lived here. She was a lifetime member of London Road West United Church. During her declining years, she was supported and loved by many nieces and nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. When we were in lockdown during the pandemic, the Marshall Gowland Manor Staff became her substitute family and provided excellent care. We would like to thank the MGM staff for all their kindness to Helen.
A private family service will be held with the interment in Lakeview Cemetery. Sympathy may be expressed through donations to World Vision or The Inn of the Good Shepherd (cheques only when donating at the funeral home please).
