Obituary For Helen Carol Holcroft
It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our Mom Helen Carol Holcroft on December 30th, 2020 at the Spirit River Health Complex at the age of 84.
Mom was a quiet soul who loved her family, gardening and those darn geese that followed her everywhere. In her younger years you would find her outside barefoot planting her flower and vegetable gardens enjoying the sunshine and the soil between her toes. She loved to host her reunions surrounded by her children, grandchildren and any other neighbors that came by. Her other favorite passion was her “show” Coronation Street, the only soap opera she enjoyed watching all these years, us kids knew well enough that we had better be very quiet when that came on. Mom did not get mad very often but if she called you by your first and middle name you knew you were in trouble and you better listen! She worked in the Dietary Department of the Grande Prairie Auxiliary Hospital and then the QE ll Hospital until she retired, she loved every minute of it and enjoyed all her co-workers.
As life and arthritis took its toll on her body and she did not get around as well, Mom was still an independent lady living alone right up till the end she never wanted it any other way. She was always there for her children, we were blessed to have her as our mother, she will be missed by us all.
Helen is survived by her children Pam (Kim) Robin, Robert (Lesley) Holcroft, Cindy (Victor) Hachey, Lisa (Taud) Schall and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Predeceased by her husband Robert, her eldest son Rick, granddaughter Tammy Bilan and her siblings Tom, Don, Nellie and Glorian.

Due to the COVID-19 restrictions we have decided there will be no celebration of life for Mom at this time.
We would like to thank the Doctors and Nurses at Spirit River Hospital for their wonderful care and compassion they gave Mom. We would also like to thank our many friends and family for their kind words and prayers through this difficult time, just know that you are all appreciated. In lieu of flowers please donate to a charity of your choice or just a kind gesture to a stranger. Care entrusted to Bear Creek Funeral Home.
