Hazel Irene Ricker
Hazel I. Ricker, 94, of The
Salvation Army Lakeview Manor, Riverview and formerly of Fairlane
Drive, Moncton, passed away peacefully at her residence on Wednesday,
March 17, 2021.
Born in New Zion, she was the
daughter of the late Frederick and Ethel (Whitehouse)
Rogers.
Hazel was a retired seamstress
at the T. Eaton Co. Ltd. with 19 years’ service; a member of
Parkside Baptist Church and the Lois Winters Missionary
Group.
She served her
church in various other capacities in past
years.
Hazel will be sadly missed by
her son, William (Bill) Ricker (late Gloria) of Hillsborough, NB;
daughter, Gloria Smith (Lewis) of Dartmouth, NS; grandchildren, Tim
Smith (Trish), Andrew Smith (Jenna), Sherry Phillips (Alan), Shaun
Johnston (Stacie) and Stephen Johnston (Terry); several great
grandchildren and great, great grandchildren; as well as several
nieces, nephews and extended family members. She was the last
surviving member of her immediate family.
In addition to her parents, she
was predeceased by her husband, Noah (1995); brothers, Leslie and
Donald; sisters, Annie, Edith, Bessie,
Jessie.
Visitation at Fergusons Funeral
Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) on Monday from 6:00 to
8:00 pm. A Service to celebrate and honour Hazel’s life will
be held from Fergusons Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, March 23, 2021
at 11:00 am, with Pastor Mitch Whittington leading the service.
Interment will be in Fair Haven Memorial Gardens. COVID-19
restrictions will be in place and wearing a mask is
mandatory.
