Obituary of Harold LeRoux
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Harold LeRoux announce his passing at the Dr. Hugh Twomey Health Centre, Botwood, NL on Tuesday December 21, 2021 at the age of 91. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his loving and devoted wife: Margaret, daughter: Kim (Fred Penney), Grand Falls-Windsor, NL; son: Randy, St. Alban’s. NL; grandchildren: Lee & Lucy; special family friend: Phyllis Barnes, St. Alban’s, NL, as well as a large circle of other nephews, nieces relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his son: Scott; daughter: Ann; brothers: Sam, Stan & Kevin (Rosanne); parents: Leo & Ann; step mother: Ida; nephew: Scott. Harold was a devoted husband, father & grandfather. He was deeply connected to the land and loved berry picking, fishing, hiking and taking his family to the beach, where he taught his grandson to skip rocks. Harold loved being a jokester with family and friends but usually did not succeed because his grin would give him away. His granddaughter inherited his lokester spirit and was known for having “that Harold LeRoux grin” when she was young. Harold will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all who knew him. His memory will be kept alive through all the wonderful stories he told, especially those about his children and grandchildren, it is believed that his spirit has returned to his favorite berry picking spot, happily spending time with the rest of his relatives who have preceeded him. The family extends a special thank you to homecare workers Sadie Sutton & Phyllis Skinner and the staff at the Dr. Hugh Twomey Health Centre for providing comfort and care as Harold walked the final stage of his life on earth. There will not be any Funeral service at this time. Funeral Arrangements were entrusted to Hynes’ Coast of Bays Funeral Home, St. Alban’s.
