NICKERSON, Gwendolyn Yvonne – 66, Clark’s Harbour, It is with great sadness that the family of Gwen announces her sudden passing on April 24, 2021, at the Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Gwendolyn was born at Doctors Cove on October 27, 1954 to George and Lucille Shand. She grew up in Shag Harbour, but in 1971 she married the love of her life, Brian, and moved to Clark’s Harbour where they raised their family. Gwen loved campfires and camping, going for drives to the “city” of Baccaro, and down to The Hawk looking for deer. She especially loved playing Wampoo; she also enjoyed watching The Waltons, Ann with an E, Heartland, and Forged in Fire, but her greatest love of all was her family. Gwen leaves behind her husband of 49 years, Brian; her children, Tammy (Dwayne), Clark’s Harbour; Blair (Kim) Lloydminster, Melissa (Derek) Lloydminster; grandchildren, Graham (Aly), Dustin, Shalyn, Duncan, Jace, and a new grandbaby due in July; three sisters, Wendy, Georgina, Norma; and many, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents, father, George, and mother Lucille. Gwendolyn will be always loved, spoken of often, and never forgotten. There will be a visitation held on Tuesday at the H. M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, Barrington, from 6:30-8 p.m. The funeral will follow on Wednesday, April 28, 2 p.m. at the H. M. Huskilson’s Memorial Chapel, Barrington, with Pastor Phil Williams officiating. In keeping with COVID guidelines, seating will be limited and it is encouraged to view the service online. The funeral will be live-streamed and a recording of the service will be available on the Huskilson’s website. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, Heart & Stroke Foundation or a charity of your choice.
