It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Gurmej Singh Dhami on April 5, 2021. Gurmej Singh leaves behind his wife of 57 years, Mohinder Kaur, his five children and their spouses, ten grandchildren, one great-grandchild and numerous friends and relatives.
Gurmej Singh was born and raised in Manko, Jalandhar, India where he served with the Indian Air Force. Gurmej Singh immigrated to Canada in 1972, settling in the Cowichan Valley and taking up employment with the Saltair Sawmill, where he worked until retirement.
Gurmej Singh enjoyed gardening, sharing the fruits and vegetables he grew, and spending time with family and friends. He made all those who graced his doorway feel like family.
Baba Ji/Nana Ji, as he was affectionately called by his grandchildren, enjoyed spending time with his family. Always the generous and gracious host to his cherished grandchildren, Baba Ji/Nana Ji will be greatly missed.
Gurmej Singh Dhami’s death has left a hole in the hearts of many. Yet, his family takes comfort in knowing Baba/Nana Ji’s life was one that was full of love and well-lived.
The family wishes to send a special thank-you to the staff at Royal Jubilee Hospital and to Dr. Hargrove for her care and compassion.
Nos plus sincères sympathies à la famille et aux amis de Gurmej Singh Dhami Date of Death:
