With family by her side, Gerry passed away peacefully at Blue Water Rest Home on June 15, 2021, while in her 90th year. Beloved wife of 58 years of August “Gus” Gregus, who predeceased her in 2012. Mother of Brad & Cathy Gregus of Exeter, Jim & Debbie Gregus of Biddulph Township, Fred & Donna Gregus of Exeter, and Susan McClure of Seaforth. Gerry was grandmother to 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Gerry is survived by her sister & brother-in-law Mary & Larry Hartman, and sister in-laws Annie Fallon, Anne Fallon, and Marilyn Fallon. And predeceased by brothers Bill, Dan, Barney and Mike Fallon, and sister Margaret Zimmer and her husband Hank. Having grown up on the farm in Yarmouth Township, Gerry lived through the very life-changing experiences of the Great Depression and WWII, and would always refer to that as having made a powerful impact in approaching what God, and life has to offer, with a true sense of gratitude. Acutely aware that being a high school basketball star and a ‘hitting-for-the-fences’ softball champion wouldn’t be enough carry her to greatness, she set off to find a strong, handsome and God-fearing young man, which she did, one evening at a church youth dance. Gerry was so enamored with this dashing young Slovakian she meet in May, of ’54, that she married him in October of the same year. They operated 2 farms in Usborne Township, and built a construction & development business, while raising 4 well-behaved children who were always distinctly aware of her fiery Irish side. Though her field plow-furrows were laser-line straight, her golf game wasn’t. And so, her church family at Precious Blood Mission became important to her, as were the many life-long relationships that she garnered in South Huron and Pt Charlotte. Gerry, together with her family were always most appreciative of the excellent care she received at Prince George and Blue Water Rest Homes, and thus, we say from the bottom of our hearts…. “Thank You”………
