Gordon was born August 25th, 1937 in Stephenville Crossing, NL and would call the Crossing his home for his entire life, it held a special place in his heart. His early working career started as the operator of the Uptown Theater as the projectionist, which most likely began his love for movies. In the late 50’s he began as an accountant with his dad’s accounting firm, soon to be traveling up and down the coast, out west and to Bonavista Bay in order to meet with clients, many of whom he would call friends through the years. Later to be joined by his brother Bob, Bishop and Bishop became his passion and his home away from home for over 55 years. Gordon was a proud member of over 50 years of the Lion’s Club and held many of the offices within that organization, including President, as well as holding a position of Board Member of the Bay St. George Seniors Home. He was a strong and faithful member of All Saints Anglican Church. When Gordon wasn’t watching a movie, playing crib or doing word puzzles you could find him casting a line at nearby pond in hopes to catch a trout or two or perhaps during season, hunting moose.
We hold you close, within our hearts and there you shall remain. To walk with us throughout our lives until we meet again. So, rest in peace, and thanks for all you’ve done. We pray that God has given you the crown you’ve truly won. We will forever love and miss you!
