Gordon Nicholas Zarichney
Peacefully at home with his family, Gordon Nicholas Zarichney, beloved husband, father, uncle and grandfather, completed his life’s journey at the age of 73.
He leaves to lovingly remember him, his wife of 52 years, Mae, daughters Wendy, Tanya Frias (Tony); grandchildren Nickolas and Marina Frias; brother-in-law Dave Irvine, Darwin Darker (Bev), Allan Darker (Pat); sister-in-law Betty Darker as well as numerous nieces and nephews who were dear to his heart.
He was predeceased by his father Nick; mother Rose; brothers Daniel and Gerald; brother-in-law Albert Darker and sister-in-law Ruth Irvine.
Gordon grew up in East Selkirk, Manitoba where he lived his whole life. He met his wife Mae in 1966 and they were married on October 11, 1969. He worked at Queen Park Motors as a mechanic from the age of 15 right up until his retirement at the age of 60.
Gordon was a very loving and hard-working man, who would help anyone in need. He loved his family dearly and always put his friends and family first.
Gordon was an avid car and antique lover. He was always working around the yard on some vehicle or building something new. He loved to camp and especially fish, spending many fishing trips with his family.
As per Gordon’s wishes, cremation has taken place and no service will follow. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to an animal shelter or charity of your choice.
