Glenn C. Russell
1939 – 2021
Glenn Cameron Russell, husband of Marilyn (Ellis) Russell, of Miramichi, passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital on September 26, 2021 at the age of 82.
Born in Chatham on July 11, 1939, he was the son of the late Donald Cameron Russell and the late Venetia Katherine (Glendenning) Russell. Glenn devoted his work life to teaching and the rest of his life to family and volunteerism. He enjoyed much of his career teaching industrial arts at the junior high school level. He was a tireless volunteer. Glenn was an active member of the Newcastle Lions Club for over 50 years, and an active member of the Highland Society of New Brunswick at Miramichi for over 30 years, most notably serving more than 20 years as chairperson of its Scholarship Committee.
Glenn is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Marilyn (Ellis) Russell; daughter, Suzanne Russell (Edward “Ted” Holden) of Antigonish, NS; grandchild, Theora Holden of Halifax, NS; sister, Donna Goodfellow (Vernon) of Point-Aux-Carr; brother, Leonard Russell (Glenna) of Kensington, PEI. He also leaves behind sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law with whom he was very close, and 13 nieces and nephews.
A PUBLIC visitation will be held at Adams Funeral Home, 140 King St., Miramichi on Saturday, October 2, 2021 from 1-4 PM. A PUBLIC funeral service will be held at Adams Funeral Home Chapel on Sunday, October 3, 2021 at 2 PM with Rev. Charlene Maguire-MacKnight officiating. Interment will be held in the Black River Community Cemetery.
