Fischer, Gladys Marguerite
At her home in Crystal Rock, Gladys Marguerite Fischer (Throop) passed away peacefully with her husband Henry and stepson Danny by her side on Friday, November 26, 2021. She was born on October 22, 1933 in Roebuck; daughter of the late Lulo and Wellington Throop. She is survived by her husband and high school sweetheart Henry, after celebrating their 52nd wedding anniversary on September 6 earlier this year. Also surviving, Danny Fischer (Judy), their childrenr Tawya, and Ryan Fischer (Kerri) along with two great grandchildren Mason and Kaleb as well as her two daughters Diane and Deborah. She loved visits from her grandchildren and great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by six siblings, Irwin (Yvonne), Dwight (Jean), Nora (Ken), Elmer (Muriel, Joyce (Earl) and Lloyd (Muriel).
Gladys was employed by RCA in Prescott briefly before moving to Montreal where she worked thirteen years at Northern Electric. After her marriage to Henry, she was employed as a dietary assistant at the Kemptville Hospital until her retirement in 1995. Gladys was a sport’s enthusiast always cheering on her Ottawa Senators, Green Bay Packers and the Toronto Blue Jays. She was a strong determined and fiercely independent woman who took each day in stride despite battling Diabetes daily since the age of 18. She loved to laugh and always wore a smile on her face. She will be missed by her family and a wide circle of friends.
Arrangements are entrusted to the Irvine Funeral Home, 4 James St. E., Brockville, ON. Keeping with Gladys’s wishes there will be no visitation or service.
