Passed peacefully at home on Friday, July 9, 2021 with her family at her side; Gertrude Mary (Colford) O’Leary in her 90th year. Predeceased by her parents, Patrick and Gertrude Colford, husband Michael (1996), her son Douglas (2021) and her brother James Colford (2010).
Leaving to mourn her seven children; Sean (Juanita), Paul (Judy), Michael (Debbie), Sheilagh Dale (Gary), Patricia Campbell, Mary (Ed), Brenda (John) and brother Robert Colford as well as 15 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, 4 nieces and nephews, a special boy Blake and special furry canine buddy Max.
A very special thank you to her granddaughters Lisa, Allison and Nicole who provided much care, laughter and singing during her illness. As well a thank you to Dr. Shawn Metcalfe; her personal care worker Shirley Carew and to the Paramedics and Staff of the “Paramedics Providing Palliative Care Program” especially Steve and Health Care Nurse Olivia Penney for her guidance on providing nursing care for Mom.
Resting at Cauls Funeral Home, 84 LeMarchant Road on Monday, July 12 from 2 p.m.- 4 p.m. and 7 p.m.- 9 p.m. Funeral Mass of Christian burial will take place on Wednesday, July 14, 2021 at 9:30 a.m. from Mary Queen of Peace with COVID-19 restrictions. Those wishing to attend must register with the family during the visitation. Inurnment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
