Gerda’s Obituary
With sadness, the family of the late Gerda Victoria Chernoff announce her peaceful passing at Golden Links Personal Care Home, Winnipeg, MB, on September 29, 2020, at the age of 88 years.
Gerda was born in Winnipeg, MB and lived her childhood years in Weyburn, SK. She graduated from the Yorkton General Hospital School of Nursing in 1955. She worked in various healthcare facilities throughout Saskatchewan and Manitoba. She retired from her position as Administrator of Meadowood Manor in 1995. After retirement she enjoyed traveling, knitting, dancing, coffee groups and eating ice cream!
She was predeceased by her parents, Fritz and Adeline Jordan; her sister, Diana (Dick) Abel; and her daughter, Brenda Chernoff. She is survived by daughters, Tracey and Laurie; her grandchildren, Jordan (Shazia) and Lauren (Sarah); her special niece, Shelley (Bill) Caswell; and her numerous cousins and friends.

Due to Covid-19, a private (live streamed) family service will take place at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, July 10, 2021, from the Chapel of Leson’s Funeral Home, Canora, SK, with Velda Dahlin officiating. Interment will follow in the Canora Cemetery. Those wishing to make expressions of sympathy may make donations to a Charity of Donor’s Choice, as tokens of remembrance, in memory of Gerda Chernoff.
