Gerald (Jerry) Joseph Robbins
1945-2021
Jerry J. Robins of Nackawic, NB passed away on June 5, 2021 at Hospice
Fredericton, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on July 13,
1945 at Bathurst, NB, a son of the late George and Agnes (Melanson)
Robbins.
Jerry took employment in 1970 with St. Anne, moving his family to
Nackawic where he worked for both Ste. Anne and AV Nackawic Pulp Mill
for 47 years as an electrician, retiring at age 72 in 2017. Jerry had
only one pastime that mattered to him and that was golf. Any season
consisting of less than 100 rounds was a loss. Every year he played
4-man scramble with his sons. This was no doubt the highlight of his
season. Many early mornings were spent with his golf group Barry E,
Armand R and Jack D. Jerry loved to boast about his 5 hole-in-ones,
four of which Jack witnessed.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Gisele (Doucet) Robbins; three
sons, Stephen Robbins (Ann), Woodstock, NB, Rick Robbins (Karalee),
Moncton, NB and Bob Robbins (Melanie), Moncton, NB; nine
grandchildren, Christian, Nathan, Jared, Dylan, Anthony, Alisha,
Ashna, Sascha and Rayne; two sisters, Mary Daley (Ron), British
Columbia and Van Timotheatos (Nick), Mont-Royale, QC; two brothers,
John Robbins (Johanne) and Ken Robbins (Vera), both of Bathurst, NB;
three sisters-in-law, Murielle Pitre (Gilles), Beresford, NB, Zita
Bernard (Donald), St. Rosette, NB and Claudette Dugas, Moncton, NB;
three brothers-in-law, Jean-Guy Doucet (Clara), Maurice Doucet, both
of Bathurst, NB and Michel Doucet (Fleurette), Moncton, NB; several
nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two sisters, Agnes
Luce and Marg VanAllen; two brothers, Jimmy Robbins and Frank Robbins;
one sister-in-law, Pierette Landy; two brothers-in-law, Alvin Doucet
and Ronald Doucet; his parents-in-law, Normand and Berthilde Doucet.
