Georgena Dawn Boucher (née
Ross), loving wife of Joseph Boucher of Fredericton, passed away at
Windsor Court on Dec 7, 2021. She was 85.
Gena, as known by her friends and family, was born in
Holtville, NB on Sept 10, 1936. She was the youngest daughter of Roy
and Iva Ross (née Carson).
Gena is survived by her loving husband, Joseph (Tony) Boucher
and her three children, Michael (Cindy), devoted daughter Sandra and
John (Bill), two grandchildren, Kyle and Chantal, and many nieces and
nephews.
Gena was an active member of the Boiestown Pentecostal Church
and a homemaker for many years. It was well known in the community
just how clean that house on the hill was kept. In heaven, she is
expecting a solid gold Electrolux. She later worked as a cook at the
Central New Brunswick Nursing Home until her
retirement.
Being a bit of a poet, Gena would be asked to write poems on
special occasions that were filled with rhyme and humour and she took
great pride in reading her poetry to the captive audience with a
sparkle in her eyes.
She loved her family and friends—the home in
Boiestown became the spot family from away would visit for a couple of
weeks in the summers. Bedtime was long after midnight with the
evenings filled with competing stories from everyone reminiscing of
the times growing up on the Miramichi. She loved to dangle her feet on
a hot day in the sparkling waters of Burntland Brook. Gena was
happiest surrounded by her family and friends.
Gena was the last surviving member of her family and was
predeceased by her four sisters:Stella, Flora, Merle,and Dorothy and
her three brothers: John, Arthur and Clarence.
In memory of Gena donations may be made to the Canadian
Diabetes Association or the charity of the donor’s
choice.
There will be no funeral.
