George’s Obituary
George Freeman Lewis Jr. – 55, of Lockeport, N.S. passed away suddenly on April 27, 2021. Born November 1, 1965 in Boston, Mass, he was the son of George Lewis Sr., and Eleanor Lewis. George was a hard worker, and a loving father. He would give the shirt off his back to help anyone he could. He loved to tell stories (especially about his children and family). He also loved to tell jokes, his truck, napping in his chair, all things outdoors, and spending time with family and friends. He had a real talent for cooking. George also had a passion for boxing when he was young, and spent some time training in Boston in his early adult years. His Children were his greatest sense of pride and accomplishment, and they loved him very dearly. He worked at Clearwater Seafood for the last 10 years, and was proud of his position as Supervisor of the Outside Shed. He enjoyed his time in the last couple years as a volunteer firefighter with the Lockeport Volunteer Fire Department. He is survived by his parents; George Sr. and Eleanor. Children; Chase, Jade, and Cain. Common Law Partner; Holly Chedd, Brothers; Hughie, Mark (both of Halifax) and Step Children; Liam Chedd, and Olivia Staines, as well as many extended family members, friends, and co-workers who will miss him dearly. Arrangements are under the care and direction of H.M. Huskilson’s funeral home. Cremation has taken place, and due to current Covid-19 guidelines there will be no funeral at this time. Interment will take place at a later date in Osborne Cemetery, with a small graveside service at that time when guidelines allow for larger gatherings. On behalf of the family, we would like to thank, EHS, and Lockeport First Responders for their efforts.
